GUCCI ARTISAN CORNER

17th May, 2013

Next week Gucci are bringing their Artisans from Florence to showcase the meticulous detail that goes into making their iconic shoes- The Loafer. You can pick your own made-to-order loafer and choose from: 21 colours, 3 kinds of leather, 2 kinds of fabric, 5 options of precious leather and 3 horsebit finishing’s. I am definitely going to check it out as customers can witness firsthand the attention to detail and handwork that is involved in the production of every item in Gucci’s leather goods collection.

The Artisan Corner display includes custom worktables, a sewing machine, a leather stand, and metal tools, as well as additional background materials, which show the shoes’ evolution mood board to sketches. The craftsmen will focus on two unique Gucci models – the 1953 loafer and the Made To Order Anton. The event kicks off from May 21 and goes until May 23 at their Sydney Flagship store and then the Artisans will set up shop at their boutique at The Star on May 25.
