Our family shoot with Stellar mag

25th October, 2022

Shoots are always a lot of fun but even more so when my family is involved. I recently did a shoot with Stellar magazine alongside my mum and Sophia and Grace, and it’s always extra special when I get to hang out with them and call it work! Mum had also just flown back from attending the Queen’s funeral in London so it was a nice way to be able to spend the day together. The girls have been in a few shoots in their time and they’re getting to the age now where they’re curious about everything on set. They love checking out the clothes and it’s also it’s also very exciting when they get to have hair and makeup done, as they often see me in the makeup chair when I’m working or attending an event so they love being able to enjoy the experience themselves. And as for mum, she’s always entertaining to have around and brings a great energy to the set, plus the girls absolutely love being able to spend time with their GG (Grandma Gai).

The shoot was about spring racing trends, so we were able to embrace a few different looks which you’ll no doubt be seeing trackside. I love being able to dabble in new season styles, and the opportunity to get dressed up for the races, whether I’m attending as a guest or working with 7Racing never loses its appeal. I love fashion so it’s always a privilege to be able to wear beautiful clothes and work with a talented crew. The shoot was styled by Jess Pecoraro, the stylist I work with for my shoots and events and she once again did a fab job pulling together pieces for all of us. I think that’s the beauty in developing a longstanding relationship with someone, it gets to the point where she just knows instinctively what I like and don’t like, plus she has impeccable taste so I trust her judgement completely.

Below are a few behind the scenes snaps that I took on the day, plus the final result in the magazine. Thanks again Stellar magazine for the opportunity and for such a fun day!

Behind the Scenes

Shooting with the girls and my mum is always a lot of fun. Here are a few behind the scenes snaps from the day.

Fashion, Shop, What I Wore

What I Wore: Black Beauty

16th January, 2020

A black dress is one of those things I can’t live without. It can be the cornerstone of many a look and is so versatile, wearable and has longevity. This Camilla and Marc dress is so effortless in its design—a sleek silhouette, simple yet interesting detailing and a flattering fit. It feels very modern while maintaining the eternally classic appeal that’s synonymous with the LBD.

The beauty with black dresses is that you can take them any direction you choose. You can dress them up to be something that feels quite formal or keep them casual with understated accessories. I love the freedom that that affords me and also it’s a great way to maintain a tight edit on pieces that I own as I can utilise one item in so many different ways.

I opted to keep this look quite sleek and simple. Worn with minimal jewellery and a relaxed hairstyle it evokes a polished vibe that doesn’t feel overly ‘done’. I can see myself wearing this look for many a work function or event but it also would be a quick go-to during my down time. And that chameleonic nature is what the LBD is all about.

Who Most Beautiful People 2015

26th March, 2015

who

I’m thrilled to be able to share with everyone that Sophia and I are in Who’s Most Beautiful People issue!

I get quite a few requests to do photo shoots with Sophia, but I’m always careful with which shoots I do as I think it’s important to keep some level of privacy when it comes to my daughter. When Who told me that we’d been included in their Most Beautiful People list I knew I had to say yes and I was definitely excited to take part. They always do such beautiful photos, and I was honoured to be included on the list with Sophia. It’s a mother/daughter picture that I’ll get to keep forever as a memento, in fact, I’m planning to get it framed!

At 10 months, Sophia’s quite active and lively now – she loves crawling around and moving about and she loved being on set. The shoot took place at a gorgeous house in Sydney’s Rose Bay and Sophia was enthralled by everything from the cameras to the crew. The shoot actually took place right during her nap time, but she managed to take a little nap in the car on the way there so she was really great during the shoot!

This is now the second shoot that Sophia and I have done together (the first being this Vogue shoot) and it’s such a lovely experience to be able to have her there with me.

If you’d like to check out the rest of the issue, it’s out on newsstands now. And below are some behind the scenes pics from the shoot. Thanks for having us Who!
