What’s on my autumn shopping list

16th March, 2017

I love the start of a new season as it means getting to scope out what’s available out there and pinpointing the purchases I’ll be adding to my wardrobe. Autumn is always a tricky time of year as it requires being prepared for both cool and warm days and also any last minute changes in the weather (this is why I always love to layer) however it’s also a nice transition into being able to wear gorgeous knits and deeper, richer colours. Here’s what’s currently on my autumn shopping list.

Camilla and Marc Bowery Cami: A great black cami is always a versatile piece in any wardrobe and I suspect I’ll be getting plenty of use out of this piece as I wear it under my jackets and blazers.

Emporio Armani zip top large tote: A woman can never have too many handbags and I love anything that’s roomy enough to carry all my essentials plus my girls’ things. I love the gorgeous mushroom colour of this particular bag as it will be easy to work  back with numerous outfits.

Isabel Marant blouse: This is totally a statement blouse and I love the fact it will work back with jeans and slacks and really give the look some oomph.

Siren wide leg pant: A wide leg pant is always a great anchor if you want a dressy, elegant look and a beautiful white pair will look sharp and polished when worn to an event or to a meeting.

Balmain sweater: Cosy sweaters are a must and this particular one by Balmain will definitely be making its way into my wardrobe due to its versatility. Logos are also making a comeback as far as tees and jumpers are concerned so this is right on trend.

Sonia Rykiel earrings: These are a great nod to the statement earring trend but I also love their simplicity which is definitely more in keeping with my style.

Le Specs sunnies: Sunglasses are a weakness of mine and I love collecting different styles in various shades as they’re such a simple way to update an outfit. This pastel pair are a fun addition to any look.

Bec and Bridge dress: The LBD is great but I’m really loving navy dresses at the moment. This one is so simple in its cut and style that it will definitely be a chameleon in my autumn wardrobe and will work back with several looks.

Preen ruched dress: I love wearing dresses throughout autumn as I find they’re a great starting point from which to start layering. A big tick of approval for the stripes and ruching on this dress.

Alexander Wang boots: A great pair of ankle boots is one shoe style I add to my wardrobe every autumn/winter season. Love the cut out heel on this pair by Alexander Wang.

Gucci trainers: Sneakers aren’t going anywhere anytime soon so I’m investing in a new pair this season. The traditional Gucci stripe keeps it classic but the stars add some fun.

Acne skirt: The rich hues of this asymmetrical skirt will provide a pop of colour to more sombre looks throughout the cooler months.

Adam Lippes midi skirt: I really rate midi hemlines as they’re so classic and elegant. The pleating and trumpet silhouette give it a nice point of difference.

Oscar Tiye mirrored leather sandals: I can’t resist a fun pair of statement heels! This metallic pair is guaranteed to liven up my look when I’m heading out to an event.

Sophie Hulme mini box bag: Mini bags may not be the kind of throw-it-all-in bag that I’d carry for everyday wear but this bag’s size is perfect for a night out. I love the additional strap as it gives me a hands-free option if I’m at a function and need to leave my hands unemcumbered for holding a drink or grabbing a canape.
