When done well a la Miranda Kerr rocking denim on denim can look decidedly chic. However to keep the look modern rather than something straight out of a bad ’80s movie make sure to keep each piece quite streamlined (no embellishments!) as teaming two denim pieces makes enough of an impact. Topping it with a navy coat helps pull the look together by adding a bit of polish to the outfit. Try some of my favourite picks below to recreate the look yourself.
The denim shirt
For a classic denim shirt in just the right shade this ASOS Denim Boyfriend Shirt in Mid-Wash Blue is a perfect steal. If you want something a bit more feminine, opt for the this ASOS denim shirt with oversized trim. A shirt in a darker wash such as this piece from ASOS is also great if you want a bit more contrast between your top and bottoms. If you are able to splurge a little you can’t go past this one from M.I.H jeans. You can wear it as a standalone piece or throw it on over a white shirt.
To copy Miranda’s skinny jeans look try these Levi’s jeans or these if you prefer darker denim. If you’re looking to invest in a pair of jeans that will last you season after season this pair by Rag & Bone are just the ideal shade to work back with a variety of different pieces in your wardrobe. A classic cut is a must but if you’re looking for an edgier pair of blues these Camilla and Marc drop crotch jeans are a great fit, not to mention ridiculously comfortable too.
