Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Cool Brittania

20th May, 2020

I’ve always loved the quintessential British label, Burberry. While they’re most well known for their iconic trench coats, I’ve always been a fan of their ready-to-wear and accessories collection. There’s something quite classic and simultaneously cool about their aesthetic.

I immediately gravitated towards this shirt dress by the brand, which for me, ticks all the boxes. The autumnal rust-coloured hue is striking without being over the top, and manages to subtly make a statement. The beautiful design features also help complete with look. With its nod to the trench coat, featuring the storm flap at the shoulder and the raglan sleeves, it’s a great nod to the roots of the brand.

The bag, also by Burberry adds a touch of fun to the look. The circular shape is a little bit quirky and different and I love the bold typography and the nod to the logomania trend. It’s the kind of accessory that has the ability to lift any outfit and is something that I know I’ll be able to use to accentuate any outfit.

I wanted to keep it classic and simple with my shoes as the rest of the look was already so strong. I didn’t really want to take away from it with anything too over the top, and you can’t really go wrong with Chanel flats. I’ve worn these shoes so much and can attest to their versatility—definitely worth the cost per wear.
