Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Relaxed Suiting

1st May, 2018

I’ve spoken of my love of a power suit before but I’m also equally as enamoured by its relaxed counterpart. This suit style is a little less structured and has a more laidback feel, however it definitely doesn’t compromise in the style department. This set is by one of my favourite Australian designers Michael Lo Sordo and I think the design really nails relaxed suiting. The blazer is still polished but the wrap belt gives it a more fashion forward feel. The wide leg pants have a tailored sensibility but the split at the bottom gives it a little edge. When matched with the wraparound jacket, with its exaggerated sleeves it steers into more modern territory.

One way to really let your outfit talking is wearing a vibrant colour, especially a beautiful red. This particular hue is a showstopper and is the kind of colour to consider when you really want to make a statement.

With such a strong look going on I knew I needed to balance it with the accessories I chose. I decided to stick with simple, unfussy jewellery such as my favourite watch and bangle. The sunglasses I chose were a simple shape but their pink hue was the perfect contrast piece against the red of the suit.
