What I Wore: The New Neutrals

9th April, 2019

I favour neutrals a lot in my wardrobe because they’re so wearable and versatile. They’re the building blocks for many a look. That said, I’m growing to see them as a fashion powerhouse on their own. Working neutrals together can often equate to a chic ensemble that still packs a sartorial punchiness that can’t be ignored. This Camilla and Marc look has become a favourite because of just that. The cream top and beige skirt, work together to lift one another but separately they can also blend seamlessly into an outfit. This season shades such as beige and caramel will be huge so no doubt I’ll be welcoming a lot more pieces like this in my wardrobe.

I think wearing neutrals does require dialling it up a little in the accessories department. This vibrant orange Espie Roche top handle bag is the perfect pop of colour to lift this look and add a fun element. Meanwhile round frame Chloe sunglasses add a playful vibe and simple Gucci slides are a sophisticated (and comfy!) footwear choice.

I can see this look taking me to so many occasions from work, to a meeting to a catch up with friends so no doubt it’s going to get quite the workout in the weeks to come.
