Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore working from home

18th June, 2020

I went for smart separates one day to edgy and moody the next this week, with a few punchy colours and patterns in between. It’s been a mixture of different commitments for work, so I tried to go for looks that could easily go from one activity to the next with ease. I’m really getting into lots of textures for winter, with cosy knits front and centre and a statement woolen coat punctuating a dressy all black ensemble. Here’s what I wore to work this week.

This is one of my favourite colour combinations for winter as it looks so fresh. Wearing crisp white is one of my favourite things to do at this time of year as it helps to brighten up a cool weather ensemble. Paired with a soft beige jumper it makes for an easy casual look with polish.

I can’t go past a statement coat moment during winter. I had to head out for work and couldn’t resist this Rebecca Vallance piece, with its striking print. Whenever I wear black from head to toe, I always like to add a pattern to help liven up a look. Black jeans and a black skivvy is an easy shortcut to effortless cool weather dressing.

I snapped up these jeans and a cropped denim jacket from Aje and have found them to be such a great addition to my wardrobe. High waisted jeans are my go-to as I love the streamlined silhouette it achieves, and it’s just the perfect partner to a cropped jacket. I’ve found the proportions just play so well together. I stocked up on skivvies at Uniqlo and they’ve been such a good staple to have on hand, and I’ve found myself turning to them constantly.

I’m really loving all things Aje at the moment based on how many great pieces I’ve added to my winter wardrobe. This berry shade is just the right thing to brighten up any outfit and when paired with a white skivvy and monochrome slingback flats, it’s a simple and understated look with a dash of pretty.
