What I Wore: Spring Finery

26th October, 2019

Spring time always has me seeking out beautiful dresses — I think it’s just the perfect time of year to embrace them, particularly when they feature a great print or interesting embellishments. It’s precisely why I was drawn to this navy and white Alessandra Rich dress, the sweet bow print and the crystal buttons give it a really feminine touch. The subtly ruched skirt and the elbow length sleeves evoke a hint of 50s styling which I really love.

I decided to complement the look with white strappy heels by Billini to pick up the hints of white in the dress, plus their streamlined, minimalist feel still allows the frock to be the focal point. I’m embracing the hair accessories trend of late and love this cluster of clips by Alessandra Rich. It adds a glam touch to an otherwise quite pared back and classic look and I think you can’t go wrong with a hint of bling here and there!

What I Wore: Brighten Up

12th October, 2019

It was another day of reporting duties for 7 Racing today and it called for another vibrant look. I tend to incorporate a little colour into my outfit whenever I’m on camera so this Rachel Gilbert dress fit the brief perfectly. I love the unexpected contrast of pink and orange in the houndstooth pattern on this mini dress. And let’s not forget the sequins! I’m all about a long sleeved dress right now as I think it looks elegant and modern and the style helps to make sequins a little more day time appropriate.

It can be tricky to find the right colours to work back with such a distinct colour palette so I played it safe with neutral pieces. A white headpiece by Nerida Winter and small structured Bulgari bag were able to work back with the dress without being overwhelming. I find anything in white can be complementary whilst still being able to hold its own. I wanted to wear heels with a unique design and these Scanlan Theodore pointed slides were the ideal option—the perforated effect gave them a point of difference and an edgy feel.

What I Wore: Golden Slipper

A recent stint with reporting stint with 7 Racing called for a standout outfit with just the right amount of glamour required for the race. As such I couldn’t go past this Alexander McQueen dress in a vibrant shade of red—it’s a showstopper and a guaranteed way to make an impact. Along with the colour, the finishing accoutrements help take the dress next-level with its frilled trim and zig zag ribbon detail; whilst the jacquard fabric provides an element of texture and adds a luxe touch.

With any racing event a headpiece is a must and this gorgeous Viktoria Novak crown was the ideal complementary piece. The wreath style design with gold leaves and crimson jewelled flowers made for an elegant touch and really popped against the dress. And what better way to finish the look than my gold Gucci heels to carry the colour palette from head to toe.
