What I Wore: Caulfield Cup 2023

23rd October, 2023

A print or a pattern can really make an outfit. Whenever I want my outfit to make a statement, it’s always one of my go-tos, particularly when it’s bold like this pinstripe suit by Louis Vuitton. I’ve waxed lyrical about my love of suiting for event wear, so I needed no convincing to wear this particular look to this year’s Caulfield Cup. I was on reporting duties once again for 7Racing so I wanted something that would work well on camera and the strong colour contrast on the suit ticked all the right boxes. I decided to wear the double breasted jacket buttoned up which gave this look a much stronger silhouette, and worked back with the matching pants it felt sleek and modern.

Headwear is always one of my key considerations for a race day look and this pillbox hat by Nerida Winter added a gorgeous feminine touch. Given the suit is already so vivid and bright, I needed the rest of my accessories to ground the look so I opted for a black Louis Vuitton clutch and a heels with a floral embellishment by Tony Bianco. Wearing more subdued hues when it came to my accessories really allowed the colour and pattern of the suit to pop.

What I Wore: The Bright Stuff

19th October, 2019

I’m on reporting duties for the Caulfield Cup today and it was the perfect opportunity to rock one of my favourite trends this spring racing season—a beautiful, vibrant suit. This Rachel Zoe pants and jacket combination in a punchy bold hue is event appropriate and features a great silhouette including bell bottomed pants and a double breasted jacket and sophisticated finishing touches like an accent lapel.

A bold look requires some fun accoutrements. I decided on a small black bag by Rixo which is enhanced by a colourful beaded bracelet handle and gold shell clasp. The structured, boxy shape and patent leather finish make it the perfect piece to complement this look. Whilst a monogrammed Burberry scarf worn as a hair accessory elevates this look and gives it a classic feel.
