What I Wore: Melbourne Cup Carnival Launch

1st November, 2018

This week I was excited to attend the launch of the 2018 Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington. I was also there in my role as a Lexus ambassador so wanted a look that was sophisticated and classic, in keeping with the look and feel of the day. The perfect outfit came in the form of a monochrome, graphic print Maticevski top and skirt. The overall silhouette was elegant with interesting touches in the form of the cap sleeves and fitted bodice on the top and peplum on the pencil skirt.

As my outfit already had a few focal points I didn’t want to overdo it in the millinery department so I opted for a gorgeous oversized bow with tulle detail. I love outfits that have a standout feature at the back and this headpiece definitely fit the brief. It was also a departure from the headpieces I’ve worn of late so it was great to be able to try something a little different. In keeping with the black and white theme I decided on my favourite Alaïa shoes as the final finishing touch.
