I’m a water baby through and through and given I spend half my time at the beach, I’m always on the hunt for a great swimsuit. I tend to go between one pieces and bikinis but over the past few summers I’ve really been getting into the one piece as it’s such an easy style to take me from day to night. I wear it to the beach and pop on a cover up of some sort whether it’s a dress, a skirt, a shirt, a pair of shorts, you name it and I can easily transition into the next activity without having to get changed.
I’m open to any and all swimsuit brands, but over the years, I have managed to develop some faves because of how great the quality is of that particular brand and also the fit is spot on. Aussie brands are at the top of my list of course, because we do swimwear so well. I will mostly opt for plain colours like black, white and khaki as I find those hues don’t date as trends change and they’re easy shades to pair back with multiple looks. That said, I sometimes end up falling in love with a print and can’t resist! Either way, I think it’s always good to experiment with different brands by trying on various pieces where possible. You may find that the cut of certain labels suit you better.
If you’re on the hunt for a new pair of swimmers this summer, these are some of my favourite go-to swimwear brands.
Bondi Born
One of my favourite Aussie brands. I’ve managed to collect a number of their styles over the years and they always bring out such interesting silhouettes and colour combinations that are always flattering. The one piece I’m wearing above is one of my current faves as I love the one shoulder style plus the monochrome colour palette.
Monte and Lou
Love a printed swimsuit for something different in my swimwear repertoire and Monte and Lou do some really fun prints. They’ve got a great core range too (even some reversible options) so there’s definitely plenty of scope to find the right style for you.
Eres
This is the kind of staple colour I like to have as a go-to basic when it comes to swimwear. This Parisian brand does some ultra chic styles and silhouettes, and lots of classic styles that will last you for many summers. It’s on the exxy side though so look out for them to go on sale on sites like Net-a-Porter.
Jets
They’ve been around for awhile, and Jets shows no signs of waning. The above one shoulder style feels very on trend and such a great flattering look. It’s also easily transitioned from the sand to sundowners so a good style to have up your sleeve on days when you know you’re looking at plans beyond just the beach. However if you’re looking for something different there’s a healthy range of various one piece and bikini styles to suit whatever your taste.
