Fashion, What I Wore

3 fresh event looks for spring

1st October, 2022

Spring is always when events start cropping up more in my calendar so occasion looks are always top of mind. This time of year is great as the outfits are all about looking fresh and embracing a little more colour, and I find that combination always makes for a sophisticated and polished ensemble. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Australian brand Perri Cutten of late and I’ve checked out their recent collection and it’s filled with some perfect pieces to wear when the dress code calls for something slightly more elevated. From a spring wedding to a fancy lunch, here are some winning looks that tick all the boxes.

A wedding

Whenever I attend a wedding, I always make sure to adhere to the dress code of course, but the majority of the time I love to wear a lot of colour. It’s such a special, joyful occasion that something bold and bright just feels right. This top and pleated skirt is ultra polished, but the fuchsia makes it perfect for a celebration. I kept my shoes to a neutral hue to avoid it competing with my outfit, while another splash of burnt orange helps keep everything bold and playful.

A luncheon

Having attended a fair few luncheons in my time, I always like to embrace a look that feels feminine and put together. Crisp white is always great for an occasion (except for a wedding of course) as it always looks ultra elegant. A buttoned up blazer and a pleated skirt are a thoroughly classic pairing, while the buttoned up shirt adds a slightly masculine feel to offer balance. I’ve always found wearing one hue from head to toe is rather impactful and this look manages to achieve that and more.

A work event

I saw this kelly green colour and knew it would be perfect for an event. The cropped pants teamed with a mint tweed blazer looks professional but the layered hues add a touch of fashion and a injection of playfulness. Styling a blazer with the buttons done up always just feels a little more considered, so I always embrace it whenever I’m attending an event for work. A neutral heel and a white mini bag help finish this look but allow the colour to be the focal point.
