My Wedding Day was without a doubt one of the best and most special days of my life so I was truly honoured to have my wedding dress selected to feature in the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney’s Love Is… exhibition which launched this month. The exhibit shines a spotlight on Australian wedding fashion spanning almost 200 years from colonial styles to bustled Victorian gowns, beaded flapper dresses, to the mini dresses of the 1960s and over-the-top 1980s gowns right through to the contemporary designs of today. I was excited to see my dress on show alongside gowns such as Australia’s oldest surviving wedding dress dating back to 1822 to the Balenciaga creation Nicole Kidman wore to her wedding to Keith Urban in 2006. If you love wedding fashion, you’ll also be able to get up close and personal to the outfits that Jesinta Franklin, Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello and Anthony Callea and Tim Campbell wore on their big day. Also gowns and accessories by designers including Toni Maticevski, Alex Perry, J’Aton, Collette Dinnigan, Viktoria Novak, Romance Was Born and Vera Wang also feature (if you’re a bride-to-be this is a great opportunity to get some wedding inspo). While you’re there don’t miss the chance to check out the Love Notes installation by principal partner Tiffany & Co where visitors can write their own personal love note on the brand’s luxury stationary and have the opportunity to have it on show. The exhibition will available to visit until April 22, 2018.
