What I Wore: Ombré Pink

17th October, 2017

There are times when an outfit of mine comes together based on a particular print or colour. In this instance the graduating pink tones of my Rebecca de Ravenel drop earrings had me wanting to wear the hue from top to toe. I find that playing with colour is often a great way to create a look that’s vibrant and impactful. Taking inspiration from the ombre effect of my earrings I wanted to incorporate light to dark shades in my ensemble, starting with the pastel pink shade of this Steele dress which provided the perfect canvas to build the rest of my look. I opted for blush toned bag and shoes to add a slightly deeper colour whilst my candy pink embellished Gucci sunglasses added a a fun touch while still keeping within the palette I was going for. The overall gradient effect is a playful way to wear this ultra feminine tone and is a styling trick that can be done with so many other colours, so it’s able to be carried out across my entire wardrobe. But there’s just something about pink that I’m really loving at the moment…

What I Wore: Australian Fashion Week Day Three

16th May, 2017

Fashion Week is the perfect opportunity to trial new trends so there was no better time to embrace a little velvet and a little pink in a nod to two of the big trends of the season. And when both trends meld into one gorgeous velvet Bec & Bridge dress in a beautiful shade of dusty pink? Well, it was a done deal. I wanted to keep the look quite tonal and also ultra feminine so I kept my accessories all pink with a pair of ombre Rebecca de Ravenel corded-silk drop earrings, a Miu Miu clutch and my latest shoe love—my Marco de Vincenzo braided heels. The weather can get quite cool whilst I’m out and about so I came prepared with a snowy white Max Mara coat and a fun pair of Lucy Folk sunglasses as the final finishing touch. I don’t often wear pink but after today, I may have to reconsider embracing my girly side more often.
