What I Wore: Flounce and Finery

11th May, 2021

Every once in awhile I get to wear an outfit that’s all about making a statement, like this one. When something involves dramatic feathery detail and a whole lot of flounce, I’m most certainly here for it. This Ferragamo look with the finest, softest feathers is so theatrical and feminine all at the same time. The earthy hues are perfect, as they help ground the softer nature of the dress, and help strike a balance. Given the dress is quite busy, I thought it needed another element to tie it together so I opted to belt it to give the overall silhouette some shape, and to offer a structured counterpoint to the more untamed nature of the feathers!

Also, I think when you’re going all out with a dress like this, it pays to dial everything back a little to ensure it’s not too over the top. Enter the most perfect black flats for winter. The Ferragamo Viva slingback is a classic design making them the ideal piece to pair with so many different looks. Plus the signature Ferragamo bow adds a sweet touch, and is the perfect detail to complement the pointed toe design of the shoe. I’ll definitely be wearing them to death this season.

What I Wore: MBFWA Day One – Bec and Bridge

13th April, 2015

I was lucky enough to be able to wear one of the looks off the Bec and Bridge runway. I teamed the dress with a pink Scanlan & Theodore coat (definitely one of my favourites for winter) and a white Ferragamo clutch (here’s what I was carrying inside!) and nude Prism sunglasses. My lace up Gianvito Rossi heels are quickly becoming a wardrobe staple.

What I Wore: MBFWA Opening Night

13th April, 2015

I knew I wanted something glamorous to wear to attend the opening night of Fashion Week and I already had the perfect dress in mind! I spotted this Salvatore Ferragamo dress in a fashion editorial and knew I had to have it. It’s a beautiful knit with a great snakeskin detail around the collar so I wore my snakeskin Aquazzura heels to match. I popped a black blazer on over the top which I find is a great way to make it through autumn when the weather is a little unpredictable during the evening.
