I flew down to Melbourne this week to attend the David Jones show at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). I attend this event almost every year and it’s always fun to spend some time in Melbourne checking out the upcoming trends.
I wanted to keep my look sleek and sophisticated for the show so I couldn’t go past a monochrome colour palette. Dion Lee never fails to deliver when it comes to event attire, especially when it comes to needing a particular piece that’s got a little edge and elevated finishing touches. As such I couldn’t pass up this gorgeous white tank dress with sheer panelling from the range. The weather can be a little unpredictable in Melbourne so I opted to pair the dress with my trusty black Balmain blazer and minimalist Stuart Weitzman heels.
Who else is loving the 70s trend at the moment? I wore this outfit to the Myer Contemporary Brands Launch and loved the off the shoulder silhouette of the top and the quintessentially 70s look of the cropped flared pants. Monochrome is always a go-to colour combination of mine as it always looks classic and polished.
I don’t often wear black from head to toe but couldn’t resist the dramatic effect of this outfit. I am loving anything off the shoulder at the moment so I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it. I wore this all black ensemble when I was recently in Melbourne for VAMFF and fell in love with the dress’ subtle print and billowy fit which is perfect for a growing bump. My Aquazurra heels seemingly go with just about everything I own so I think they have definitely been worth the investment.
Autumn is here and if you are looking for some winter essentials and don’t want to spend a fortune updating your wardrobe then here are some affordable options. I recently attended the VAMFF ‘Target Rocks The Runway’ event where they had some really great pieces on the runway that you could incorporate into your winter wardrobe and won’t cost you an arm and a leg! Here are some of my must-have items that can be mixed and matched for all occasions.
One of the highlights of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival was the Target Rocks the Runway show. Collections from Target Essentials, Hot Options and Free Fusion were all showcased on the runway as well as, Dannii Minogue Petites for Target, which made its debut on the catwalk.
Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) Opening Event was a star-studded event. Models Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox hit the runway while, VIP’s including mum-to-be Megan Gale, Emma Freedman and Rachael Finch sat front row and took in the latest autumn/winter trends.
