Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: The LWD

18th March, 2022

I’ve always found the LWD (Little White Dress) to be a worthy opponent to the LBD. There’s something ultra elegant and chic about a crisp white frock that makes it a classic piece to have at the ready. I’ve embraced the LWD in various iterations, but I think it shines the best as a day outfit. I’ve often turned to it as an option for an event or a lunch with friends as it always looks polished and so effortless. I like the illusion that this dress by Esther & Co looks like a two piece ensemble, it actually feels like I’m getting double the wear as it could pass for both. I like the simple knotted feature joining the crop and skirt together, while the split adds a dramatic and sexy touch.

The beauty in LWDs is that you are essentially working with a blank canvas and you can take your shoes and accessories in any direction. For this look, I went with my Bottega Veneta mesh heels, which are a neutral, beige colour and works well against the stark white of the dress. The mesh fabrication and the chain detail also add a very modern twist to this look. Further adding to the fashion forward accessorising, I went with this shearling trimmed Jacquemus bag to add a little texture, but also a quirky feature piece that will add another layer of interest to this outfit.
