Australian Fashion Week 2017 Day Three Wrap Up

16th May, 2017

The Shows: Hansen and Gretel, Bec & Bridge, Christopher Esber

Where: On site at Carriageworks for Hansel and Gretel; Offsite at David Jones for Bec & Bridge and The Clothing Store for Christopher Esber

My day started… bright and early at 9am.

My outfit today… was all about pink hues and velvet. I’m loving the velvet trend at the moment so today I literally wore it from head to toe!

Favourite show… Christopher Esber.

The one look I fell in love with… a candy striped top and skirt combination at the Christopher Esber show (pictured below).

Big trends I saw… vintage floral prints, feminine silhouettes, midi skirts and ruffles but with cheeky side of sheer and swimwear at Hansen and Gretel. Meanwhile at Bec & Bridge it was all about structured ruffles, shirting, polka dots, bare shoulders, bright colours (namely bright red and electric blue), silk shifts and short party dresses. Christopher Esber’s show focused on shirting, tailoring, trenches, pops of colour and figure hugging knits.

Big trends I saw on attendees…there has certainly been no shortage of great outfits on show. I’ve been seeing a lot of suits on women, skirt and top combinations, knits with longer skirts, combining casual with luxe and lots of layering.

What I ate/drank… I squeezed in a Date with Kate interview with TV personality Jessica Kahawaty over lunch at Catalina in Rose Bay in between shows. We ate fish and pasta which helped keep my energy levels up!

I stopped at Bambini Trust in the CBD for an afternoon wine with my team to recharge, download pics, edits and catch up on some work. It was so good I went back to there for dinner with Ksenija Lukich, Nadia Fairfax, Rey Vakili and Hoda Waterhouse before heading to the Christopher Esber show.
