Day one of Milan Fashion Week kicked off today and I hit the ground running. First on my fashion week schedule was Gucci’s Women’s Spring Summer 2014 collection. The stunning collection was made up of sleek, loose lines with ornate decorative motifs. It was a luxe take on sportswear basics, with deep slits, unexpected cuts, plunging necklines, and transparencies for accentuated femininity. Creative Director Frida Giannini commented, “I took active wear essentials as a starting point and set out to create a feminine take on technical outfitting, crafted with Gucci’s codes. Intricate elegance, enlivened by a refined ornamentalism that takes its cue from Erté illustrations.” Here are some of my favourite looks.
