Shop the look: Backpacks

2nd March, 2016

The backpack has certainly come a long way from the kind I used to use to carry all my books to school! These days the backpack is super stylish, often comes in a great colour palette and and has the right amount of understated detailing to make it a classic piece for years to come. I have been glued to my Scanlan Theodore backpack for awhile now simply because it makes it so easy to carry all my essentials when I’m out and about (it’s especially perfect for when I’m shopping as it leaves both my hands free to browse through the racks). Here are some of my tops picks if you’re looking to add a backpack to your bag collection, I promise you’ll never look back…

STYLE

STEALS (under $120!!)

Style (clockwise from left):

See by Chloe Vicki backpack

The tassels on this bag set it apart from your usual, garden variety backpack. It’s also quite roomy which means it’s perfect to take with you when you’re travelling.

The Row 9 pebbled leather backpack

Made from luxe pebbled leather, this backpack is taken next level with the gold hardware. I love that you can carry it on your back but also use the top handle to carry it more like a traditional handbag.

Rag & Bone Mini Pilot backpack

Rag & Bone do some gorgeous utilitarian pieces with a sophisticated touch and they’ve taken this bag into definite grown up territory with the streamlined, understated design.

Alexander Wang Prisma Skeletal backpack

Straight from Alexander Wang’s popular ‘Prisma’ range, I love the rose gold hardware and super soft textured leather on this particular bag.

Steal (clockwise from left):

Eyelet backpack

For a more inexpensive option, this backpack from ASOS is a bargain at only $68!

Structured pocket backpack

This offers plenty of space to carry your essentials (and more!) plus it’s quite a simple design which makes it easier to mix and match with different outfits.

Suede and Leather backpack

Not liking the traditional backpack style? This roll top bag is ideal for those who are after something a little quirkier.

Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2015

23rd February, 2015

Alexander Wang sent an edgy collection down the runway. It was all about black, studs and pieces with a masculine edge. I think Alexander Wang always does great separates and I have lots of tops and jackets from his label that I consistently wear. My favourite look was the white studded jumper teamed back with jeans and I also particularly liked the white sheer dress which I probably wouldn’t be game enough to wear, but looked great on the runway!

Fashion Week Checklist

12th September, 2013

I am currently at Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) and next week I go on to Milan. Here are a few items that I couldn’t live without over the next two weeks. I live in my black blazer; it goes with everything and can be worn day and night. Skyscraper pumps are a must but always be sure to have some flats for those times you are running between shows. A statement bag and jewellery is always a good accessory. Plus never forget your notebook and pen to take note of your favourite runway looks.
