Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: White Out

23rd March, 2021

Striking the right balance with an outfit is important to me, so I often like to work dressy pieces with something slightly more casual to avoid it looking too “done”. This ribbed racerback dress by Glassons is a versatile piece because it can easily be dressed up or down; I could easily wear this with sneakers one minute and heels the next. What I love is that it has a sporty vibe to it, which I think gives it a slightly more modern feel. On this day I opted to dress it up with Bottega heels but I felt it just needed something a little more relaxed to keep it balanced. Enter the shearling lined cropped jacket from Glassons’ sustainable range. It’s a gorgeous neutral colour which was perfect for pairing with a crisp white dress, but the silhouette and lining help to steer it into more off duty territory, which was exactly what I was after.

It was important to still keep the glam factor however so black heels seemed the ideal option. It’s a classic colour palette, but it’s an up-to-the-minute silhouette giving it an on trend touch. Working with such a sleek shape with the dress, I felt it needed a contrast accessory, something slightly more structured in style, so my white Bulgari bag came to mind. Also, as it’s white, it helped achieve continuity between my outfit and my accoutrements. For the final finishing touches, it was all about a pair of statement earrings to add some fun, while cat eye sunglasses by Poppy Lissiman was the ideal full stop to this look.
