My go-to sunglasses brands

8th July, 2019
Bold Prada sunglasses at this year’s Fashion Week

Sunglasses have always been an integral part of my look. I find that great frames can easily add a certain extra something to an outfit and for that reason, I’ve managed to accumulate quite the collection (see below for just some of what I’ve collected over the years).

I tend to have a range of sunglasses at different price points. I’ll have my splurge sunnies of the designer variety for special events and occasions, but I’ll also have a few cheap pairs (one I even purchased from the newsagent and they’re always mistaken for Celine!) boomarked for when I’m playing with the girls. I also favour really affordable brands like Le Specs and Local Supply for when I just need a fun pair of sunglasses that I can throw in my bag and not have to worry about.

Having tried and tested a number of sunglasses brands over the years, these are a few of my faves…

My sunglasses collection

Poppy Lissiman

Small frame sunglasses are an on trend option for eyewear and this pair by Poppy Lissiman has been on rotation for months. I’ve found this brand to also do really cool colours and shapes and at a reasonable price point too.

Local Supply

Local Supply is a great affordable Aussie eyewear brand that I often turn to when I want sunglasses with a bit of an edge. Think interesting shapes and cool colours.

Le Specs

An oldie but a goodie, Le Specs have been a go-to of mine for years. They always do on trend styles and the cat eye pair above from their collaboration with Adam Selman was hugely popular and still a definite fave of mine.

Gucci

You can always rely on Gucci to do a beautiful pair of sunglasses, especially when you want something next-level. If you’re after embellishment and a luxe and glam feel when it comes to your frames, this is definitely the brand to treat yourself with.

Miu Miu

I love Miu Miu’s playful accessories, especially sunglasses. You can always rely on the brand to turn classic styles into something more with the right finishing touches. These cat eye sunnies with subtle diamante detailing are a great example of the label’s aesthetic.

ChloƩ

ChloĆ© do really gorgeous 60s style frames such as the pair I’m wearing above. If you’re after round frames with a soft, feminine feel then it’s definitely one brand you need to turn to.
