What I Wore: The Wild One

12th February, 2019

I think it’s important to push your fashion boundaries and explore different looks and as I tend to favour neutrals and subdued prints more often than not I was in the mood to do something a little different recently. Enter this red, leopard print co-ord set by Veronika Maine which most definitely fit the bill. The vibrant, fiery red worked back with such a striking print really made me stop and take notice. There’s an element of fun with it but I also like the fact that the shirt and skirt are such a classic silhouette that it provides some balance to the overall look.

Black and red are such a great combination that I knew that I wanted to keep the colour scheme throughout, including with my accessories. I opted for a pair of triangular cat-eye sunglasses which I think ties in well with the edgy vibe of the print and colour of my outfit. I wanted a slightly more modern looking bag and a really cute option came in the form of this diminutive Prada bucket bag. It also ticks another box for me, which is versatility, as I can carry the bag by its handle or alternatively use the bag strap to go hands free. Topping off my look were these sleek Aquazzura heels. I love the simple, streamlined silhouette but with a ladylike bow at the back to help soften the look. A definite welcome addition to my wardrobe.

What I Wore: Skirting Around

2nd June, 2018

Want to know my new fave go-to if I want a casual, yet polished look? It’s a beautiful midi skirt and a jumper. I’ve worn this outfit combination before on the blog and it’s still going strong because I think it strikes just the right note—an off duty ensemble that maintains an element of polish. It’s so easy to pull together too so it’s become a great option for those days when I need to get out the door fast.

Midi skirts have become a reliable style staple as they’re easy to dress up or down. I particularly love the colourful print on this skirt as it’s so vibrant and has a fresh feel to it. This Kenzo sweater features a vibrant red that perfectly picks up the similar tones in the skirt and helps tie the outfit together.

I don’t think a day goes by where I don’t wear sneakers. They’re just so practical and unbelievably comfortable and there are some really cute options out there. The pair I’m wearing with this look features a cute handwritten style Saint Laurent logo which gives it a point of difference. I’ve found that designers have really stepped up their sneaker game and have released some on point designs that I can definitely wear non-stop. And you can’t beat being comfy all day, right?

What I Wore: Australian Fashion Week 2018 Day 1

13th May, 2018

Australian Fashion Week Day One is always an exciting time and one of my favourite events of the week. There’s a lot of buzz as the hectic few days ahead kicks off with one designer headlining the day. This year, one of my favourite designers, Camilla and Marc had the honour of showing on day one so I was excited to pull together my look to attend.

I am all about great suiting at the moment so I couldn’t resist wearing a white Saint Laurent suit. An all-white look is always quite impactful whilst remaining classic. Of course it was also one of the rainiest days we’ve had in Sydney in awhile so I had my work cut out for me keeping everything pristine but I was determined! I particularly love the white cigarette style pant which I’ve always found to be a really flattering cut. I wanted to keep to a single colour palette so a silk shirt in the same colour was the perfect piece to wear underneath the blazer. I also found this to be a really effective, yet subtle way of adding some depth to my outfit.

Accessories were key to this look to avoid it looking too stark. A pair of black embellished Christian Louboutin heels added a punchy statement item to my overall ensemble. Whilst a silver Sandro chain strap bag was an accent piece that helped to add a modern touch to such a traditional look. Here’s to the rest of the week!
