Fashion, What I Wore

Afterpay Australian Fashion Week Day 5

4th June, 2021

What a week! It was the last day of Fashion Week today and I decided to go for something a little more relaxed for today’s look. And what better option than embracing denim all the way. These jeans by Isabel Marant are such a great fit, and they’re just the right crop (important when you’re petite). Also whenever I wear anything high waisted it’s important that it’s just the ideal level of firmness around the waist and hips for the most flattering fit, and these jeans ticked both those boxes. To tie into the light blue wash of the jeans, I went for a paisley sky blue top, also by Isabel Marant. I wanted a streamlined silhouette so I decided to opt for a waist belt to cinch in the top, making for a more flattering fit.

My outfit embraced a slightly softer colour palette so I wanted accessories in more understated hues. I decided on a structured fawn Tory Burch bag to add a ladylike touch this look. While my white Bottega slingbacks made for the ideal accompaniment to the slightly more casual nature of denim, giving it just the right hint of dressiness to achieve balance. For the finale of one of my fave events of the year, this combination was just the right ensemble to see out the week.

What I Wore: Island Getaway

19th December, 2018

During our recent trip to Hawaii, I packed a wardrobe that was light and perfect for the heat but also incorporated lots of fun, vibrant pieces. These lightweight silk Tory Burch pants were perfect for wearing during the day but when paired with a dressy top and heels at night it made for a great outfit for dinner. I loved the print and the punchy colours which were perfectly in keeping with the easy and relaxed vibe of my whole holiday wardrobe.

I paired these pants with the two-piece black Tory Burch swimsuit I had for a day of checking out the local sights. The bandeau top served the dual purpose of being a crop top but it also meant I had a swimsuit ready to go in case I wanted to go for a quick dip during one of our walks.

When it came to my accessories I wanted to stick to natural textures and this straw We Are Poolside bag had a real tropical feel to it. It was just the perfect size for carrying my essentials (wallet, hotel key, sunglasses and the like) and also came with a detachable strap in case I wanted to go hands-free (which I often did with the girls in two). My gold Aquazzura sandals were comfortable enough to walk in all day but added a glam touch to the rest of my look. And what’s a beach holiday without a great pair of sunglasses. I’ve been wearing these small-frame cat eye sunglasses by Poppy Lissiman to death as I love their modern, slightly futuristic vibe.
