Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: After Dark

24th January, 2023

I loved this outfit so much that I thought it definitely deserved its own post on the blog. Late last year I went to a party hosted by Moet & Chandon and as a failsafe outfit option, opted for a classic LBD. This one shoulder gown is by Ginger & Smart and it’s the kind of piece that couldĀ  be worn to multiple occasions as the style is so elegant, understated and chic. I’m really loving the resurgence of the one shoulder neckline of late as it feels modern, yet not overly “trendy” that it will date very easily. When it comes to LBDs I’ve always felt the design should be simple enough that it could easily be restyled in a variety of different ways, and this dress aptly called the Incarnation gown can definitely do just that.

I decided to embrace the pared back vibe of the dress and kept my accessories to a few key pieces that were definitely event-ready but not overly glitzy that it would feel over the top. I’ve had these black Jimmy Choo heels for awhile, and I’ve always liked the subtle crystal studs on them as it gave them a dressy feel but the shoe didn’t feel overly done. A simple twist lock Louis Vuitton clutch was a great complementary piece to this entire look as it has such a classic feel to it. And I was lucky enough to be able to wear the most beautiful Bulgari Serpenti necklace. Embracing the brand’s signature serpent style, this necklace studded with stunning pave diamonds was the perfect accoutrement to this look. Glamorous without being too showy.
