Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Flight of Fancy

19th August, 2020

Have you ever wanted to wear something purely because it just looks like pure joy in an outfit? This Valentino look is just that. I’m always on board with a co-ord set but throw in the most intricate floral print and some thoroughly playful embellishment in the form of ostrich feathers and it’s just a picture perfect pairing. This ensemble also makes a slight nod in the direction of pyjama-as-outerwear dressing, with the cut and silhouette of the shirt and pants. But it maintains that level of polish that you’d expect from a heritage brand like Valentino. Also, the azure blue shade just makes the entire look pop.

When working with such a showstopper design I always opt to keep it simple to let the outfit steal the show. I think when prints and embellishments are in the picture accessories should be kept to a minimum so I went for a beautiful timepiece and jewellery. This watch by Jaeger LeCoultre is the kind of understated design that works with virtually any look while my Cartier bangle is something I’ve had for years and wear almost every single day. I did add a pair of statement earrings as it helped balance my overall look, and when they’re as much fun as this pair by Aje, it adds the perfect finishing flourish.
