Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Golden Eagle

31st October, 2020

It was a funny day today in Sydney today with it being overcast one minute, sunny the next, then a downpour. So, choosing an outfit to wear while reporting for 7Racing at the Golden Eagle at Sydney’s Rosehill Racecourse, it was all about embracing something striking. When the weather’s like this it’s always nice to be able to wear something that’s bold and vibrant — I’ve always found about a great outfit that can really lift your mood. So, I went with this stunning Aje dress which dialed up the drama with its statement features. The bottle green shade, the one-shoulder neckline, side cut-out and voluminous puff sleeve ensured this dress was anything but ordinary, and perfect for a day reporting trackside.

I’ve worked with milliner Nerida Winter for several years and this veiled headpiece was just the right accessory to keep up the dramatic feel of this ensemble. I went for a metallic snakeskin Bulgari bag, which with its structured style really helped to balance the softer lines of the dress. Once again, I had the opportunity to wear some beautiful jewellery by Chaumet. A fine necklace, along with a delicate stack of bangles and a ring were just the right amount of bling to add some understated sparkle and finesse to my look.
