What I Wore: Golden Hour

19th October, 2021

Wearing bold hues is often my shortcut to feeling a little more energised so I love this time of year when we tend to embrace a lot more vibrant colours. Camilla and Marc is one of my go-to brands for dresses, and I always turn to them at the start of spring and right before summer as I know I will always inevitably end up falling in love with something. I saw this dress and immediately thought of how fittingly it embraced the vibe at this time of year—the colour is bright and fun, the maxi silhouette perfect for wearing whilst enjoying the sunshine and the printed linen the perfect lightweight fabrication for the balmy weather ahead. Also, the cut out details give it a little something extra, a standout feature that elevates it beyond just an ordinary sundress.

Working with such a bold colour, I could’ve taken the path of tempering it a little by incorporating more subdued accessories but in this case it was about leaning into it a whole lot more! These tangerine heels by Scanlan Theodore are just the right shade of show-stopping orange to work as the perfect colour companion to this dress. Dialling up the vibrancy certainly added a little extra energy to my look. Continuing with the gold theme, I added a stack of gold chain necklaces to add a statement element to my look. Whenever I’m working with a silhouette that’s decidedly very feminine, I like to embrace bolder accessories to offset the softer vibe of my outfit. Finishing of this look were these aviator glasses which added a modern, on trend piece to my outfit.
