My week on Instagram

14th July, 2019

It was a winter themed week on Instagram. I shared my favourite new teddy coat which along with being one of the most popular trends of the season has got to be one of the best ways to keep warm I’ve encountered yet. Soft, cosy and stylish, this Ducie coat was my What I Wore star of the week. In fact I love it so much I’ve been wearing it non-stop including my trip to Queenstown over the weekend. Luke and I started by toasting the trip ahead at the airport before flying to New Zealand with some good friends for the weekend. Not only was it relaxing and the scenery stunning but one of my best friends got engaged over there! It certainly was one of the most memorable weekends I’ve had!

What’s on my wishlist this month

17th July, 2017

So many beautiful things to love this month! Prepping for an overseas holiday involved plenty of outfit planning and in the process I spent a lot of time trawling all my favourite stores for potential outfits to take with me. A big trip to Europe had me feeling inspired to embrace lots of feminine shades whilst strong pieces such as structured jackets and bags caught my eye as new additions to my Sydney winter wardrobe. Here’s what has me wanting to give my credit card a workout…

No 21 Bow front velvet slides

The pretty pink shade and bow detail make a subtle but striking statement and the velvet makes it very of the moment.

Charlotte Olympia velvet leather sandals

The wraparound straps and glamorous ostrich feather detail make this the kind of shoe that demands to take centre stage.

Thierry Lasry cat-eye sunglasses

The mirrored lenses and gilded caged frames of these sunglasses make them the perfect finishing touch to an outfit.

Alaia studded leather bag

A little bit rock and roll this bag adds a touch of drama to any ensemble and is roomy enough to still be utilitarian.

Chloe tie-neck blouse

A billowy blouse with neck ties such as this Chloe number matched with a great pair of trousers or a skirt is polished and pretty.

Simone Rocha earrings

I’ve been embracing dramatic earrings of late and I am loving this pair because they are able to make a statement without totally overwhelming a look.

Camilla and Marc black pants

These harem style pants meld comfort and style and I could see myself wearing them for work and play.

Kassidy black dress

A little black dress is a wardrobe must and I’ve been in the mood to update my collection with a piece that dials up the glamour. This definitely delivers and more.

Camilla and Marc khaki blazer

A structured blazer is always a constant in my wardrobe and when in a versatile khaki I can see it easily being incorporated into many of my current winter looks.

Zimmermann crinkle chiffon dress

A beautiful off the shoulder dress that can be layered with a jacket for an effortlessly chic winter look and when the weather warms up, pairing it with a pair of sandals make it perfect for a dressy lunch.

Joseph block leather ankle boots

I’ve always loved wearing ankle boots throughout winter and this particular pair will add a sophisticated touch to any outfit.

Miu Miu velvet slides

I’m all for anything with a little sparkle. I can envision these slides working with myriad looks and adding a sophisticated touch every time.

Loewe reversible leather belt

Investing in a quality leather belt is a wardrobe must and when you’re able to get double the use out of it it’s a fashion no-brainer.

Rochas round neck sweater

The pleating on this grey sweater elevates it from a standard winter staple into a bonafide fashion statement.

Gucci embellished leather tote

Gucci knocks it out of the park yet again. The combination of vibrant colour blocking and crystal and faux pearl encrusted bee give this ladylike top-handle structured bag some vivacity.

How to do winter’s biggest accessories trends

24th April, 2017

When it comes to winter dressing I like to mix it up between moody, dark styling and light, bright looks so my accessories have to be able to follow suit. Here’s how I do it…

Moody and dark

Wearing a head-to-toe black look can sometimes look a little too intense so I like to break it up with contrasting prints such as this oversized houndstooth coat and a sprinkling of accessories. I like to keep my accessories in subdued tones but love to be able tap into the season’s biggest trends. For this particular look I’ve opted for Mimco’s mini chain strap bag (if it’s a big day out I’ll swap it out for a big black tote to be able to carry all my essentials) and a black timepiece and simple jewellery. This is my go-to when I’m after a look that’s classic but with a few contemporary touches.

Light and bright

If I’m doing an outfit in lighter tones I like to opt for more vibrant accessories to build on the pared back palette. In this instance a pair of Mimco statement earrings, oversized sunglasses and a block colour envelope clutch (love the burgundy accent) are the ideal way to bring this particular outfit to life. I usually keep my accessories in similar tones to help tie the look together from head to toe, but in doing so I can afford to mix various styles from the art deco inspired earrings to a modern clutch without it looking haphazard.
