One of my go-to sources for fashion inspo is of course, Instagram. It’s a virtually endless source of constant inspiration when it comes to dressing. If you’re ever stuck in a fashion rut or feeling bored of a particular outfit combination, I highly suggest a quick scroll as it can often unearth an outfit idea or two.
There are so many women with enviable wardrobes on the ‘gram and one of them is the founder of Go-to Skincare and author, Zoë Foster Blake. Her approach to fashion is a pure delight as she always seems to be having fun no matter what she’s wearing. Whether it’s a punchy print, layering colours or a cheeky accessory or two, she’s definitely the epitome of what it is to know your style and wholly own it. So, here are a few lessons you can learn from her…

Embrace embellishment and texture
Zoë makes an LBD with a simple slip-style silhouette a feature piece with textural elements. You can easily turn something with an understated style into a showstopper by simply embracing the addition of texture or embellishments.

2. Layer neutrals
Who says neutrals have to be boring? You can give an outfit increased depth by layering hues in a similar colour family—in this outfit’s case it’s camel, oatmeal and white.

3. Go all out with colour
Just as neutrals can have a powerful effect, so to can a bold riot of colour! Zoë has become known for her playful, colourful style and this dress is proof that working a print with vivid hues means your outfit does all the talking.

4. Never underestimate denim
I’m all about denim as it’s such a versatile thing to have in your closet, and this is one look that proves how easy it can be to dress it up or down. Along with the midi length hemline of the denim skirt, which is a little unexpected, I also love the fact she’s paired it with a floral print and metallic shoes to create a feminine style with edge.

5. Accessories are king
Don’t ever doubt the ability of accessories to revitalise an old look, or steer it in multiple directions according to the occasion. What Zoë does best when it comes to accessorising is that she always seems to be having fun with it and she isn’t afraid to go for interesting shapes or pieces with a playful edge.
