Every season there’s a colour that really stands out as being the one to embrace. For autumn/winter, I definitely think it’s all about camel. It took a bit of getting used to as it’s quite a retro-ish hue but now I can’t get enough of it. It’s a neutral that has a bit more of a modern vibe and I’m finding myself wanting to snap it up in various iterations, from a coat to a skirt and a top because it’s feels polished, but still very much on trend. Camel coloured pieces are definitely where it’s at.
I snapped up the above Manning Cartell set because a) I’m a firm believer in the power of a co-ordinating two piece and b) I found it to look extra smart in a camel shade, but it also made it particularly easy to work back with a number of different pieces. And therein lies the genius of this colour. It plays nicely with myriad shades making it extremely versatile. In the look above I paired it with a metallic bag and monochrome shoes and some gold accessories and it felt really fresh and contemporary. It makes for a nice anchor point to build a look from.
This season you can embrace this colour a little, or a lot. For me, I’m going all in. Thankfully it works in so many different ways so whether I am embracing a camel coloured pant or popping on a camel coat over my outfit, I think it will be equally as wearable. And you can’t ask for much more than that.
