As is the nature of fashion, trends come and go and have always been a bit of a revolving door situation. So, it’s no surprise that here we are, welcoming back the return of the early aughts fave: cargo pants. These had such a grip on everyone in the early 2000s – they were dressed up or down, worn back with heeled boots a la Jennifer Lopez in the video for her hit song Jenny from the Block and were a red carpet fave of many a celebrity at the time. It was really only a matter of time before they made a comeback.
Thanks to celebs like Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Rihanna and Hailey Bieber who has really made it one of her street style faves (as you can see below) they’re quickly becoming one of the go-to pants this season. So, how can you style them?
- Dress them down with a tank and sneakers (Sambas if you really want to be right on trend),
- Worn with tee and open button down shirt and sneakers or flats
- Wear it with a tee and a trench and paired with ballet flats
- Pair them with a lightweight sweater and flats or sneakers
- Dress it with a tee and oversized blazer with flats or heels
- A cropped tee and heeled pointy boots
