Cosy and stylish knits to soothe your winter blues

23rd July, 2021

I don’t think I could ever get through winter without a collection of knitwear to get me through the chilly days. I tend to embrace a few different styles, from cardigans to turtlenecks to oversized knits, and love the fact that there are also an endless array of hues and prints and patterns to choose from. Knitwear is also such a great thing to invest in as far as your wardrobe goes because they can work with an array of pieces from denim to pants and skirts, and can pretty much be in rotation most of the year. Beyond winter in which I pretty much live in one form of knit or another, I know I tend to reach for them when autumn hits and sometimes even pull out lightweight sweaters on cool summer nights. Also, they’re an ideal layering piece when travelling.

The only thing I’ve really found with knits is that they do require a little effort to keep them in great shape. I tend to fold my knits rather than hang them to avoid stretching. And I will always put them in the wash in a gentle cycle or hand wash them if required and lay them flat to dry rather than popping them in the dryer to ensure they keep their shape. The majority of the time, I can do this and my knits come out great. I’ve managed to acquire a solid collection over the years and as I rely on them year in and year out, I feel its worth it to go the extra mile to keep them in good condition.

If you’re currently looking to update your collection, I’ve done an edit of some great pieces which I think will make a worthwhile addition to your winter outfit repertoire. I think you can always rely on a beautiful knit to tie a look together, whether it’s one in a statement print to turn an otherwise understated ensemble into something that truly stands out, or a ultra luxe sweater to elevate an outfit. Keep scrolling for some cosy winter warmers to help you get through the remaining days of the season in style.
