What I wore this week

30th March, 2023

Doing this round up each week is always a great reminder of the current pieces I have in my closet, which often sparks new ideas for how to style them. I love being able to mix and match current pieces in new ways and always enjoy giving them a spin with old favourites. I embraced a number of different outfits this week, from a trendy take on suiting, to dresses with personality and my go-to looks for working out. Here’s what I wore this week.

Vests and pants are one of my favourite interpretations of traditional suiting right now. The vest feels feminine and polished, and worked back with tailored pants it makes for a modern look. This look is head-to-toe Seed Heritage which is often a go-to of mine when it comes to trend pieces with a classic spin. I accessorised this with a white pouch bag (note: a very Bottega silhouette for a fraction of the price) to add a touch of softness to the clean lines, while nude heels help elongate my frame.

This was at a fitting with 7Racing and front and centre was one of my favourite brands, Acler. This sunshine yellow dress was just the right pop of colour to brighten up my mood. Meanwhile the puff sleeves are a forever favourite detail of mine when it comes to dresses, while the deep V-neck makes for a flattering neckline. I have had these gold Aquazzura sandals forever and I still consider them a neutral in how easily they pair with so many different looks.

Workout day means you’ll often find me in mostly black athleisure pieces. I love Camilla and Marc’s activewear range as they give a fashion-ey spin to sportswear, and Lorna Jane is a longtime fave for basics like this black tank. Black sneakers are my go-to for exercising as I find they go with more pieces, and as I train a lot outdoors, they’re easier to keep clean!

I’ve managed to get some great mileage out of this Kate Ford dress, which is always a sign of a good wardrobe addition. It’s perfect for dressing up or down, and I’ve worn this with heels and flats so it’s a truly versatile staple.

Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore this week

2nd February, 2023

I’ve done a round up of a few different looks I wore during the recent Christmas/school holidays. We did a quick trip up to the Gold Coast as I had reporting commitments for Channel 7 up there, so it was all about relaxed outfits as we spent some time at the beach with the girls and also at the polo. That said, I was also able to embrace a few different dressy looks, including a great all-rounder dress and an old faithful that just keeps getting more wear! Here’s what I wore this week…

This casual dress by Clea is the perfect balance of a black dress that can be worn casually with flats or dressed up. It’s the perfect flattering shape and the square neckline feels very modern and on trend. The thing with black dresses is sometimes you need a little colour to break it up, so I wore this particular style with bright yellow slides to add some contrast.

When things went awry with the original outfit I was supposed to wear on camera reporting at the polo, this Gul Hurgel dress saved me! I’ve had this for a few seasons and it’s still going strong several summers along. The heart print is playful, and the off the shoulder neckline is always universally flattering. I often wear this dress with flats, but opted for white Aje heels to dress it up a little more.

I adore the suiting trend that’s doing the rounds and this look by P.Johnson Femme is such a great take on it. The linen gives it a relaxed vibe, but I love the fact it still looks polished. The feminine/masculine style of the vest worn with pants is so on trend right now and I really like the fact it gives a traditional suit a different twist.

Shirts make such good cover ups at the beach and this shirt by Agua Bendita is a few seasons old but still a firm favourite. The print’s great for a casual day while still being able to be dressed up for lunch or dinner later on. Black swimsuits are a staple in my summer wardrobe as the simplicity makes it easy to wear with multiple pieces yet still looks chic.

What I Wore This Week

27th January, 2022

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things on the work front so it’s been a mixture of getting dressed up for those events, while also being at the tail end of the school holidays and living in my favourite casual gear. There’s a lot of new pieces I’m keen to wear and I’m excited to roll them out over the coming weeks but I also have a newfound appreciation for my go-tos. These are the pieces that I wear most of the time and are in constant rotation because of how comfortable and versatile they are. Here’s what I wore this week.

I am loving how fun suiting has become. This is one of my faves by Acler, as the cut is spot on and so flattering while the rust colour is an unexpected hue as far as suits go. This Viktoria and Woods bustier top is currently one of my faves as it’s so easy to pair with multiple pieces. I’ve been able to dress it up or down, and it looks polished each time. I finished this look with my go-to Bottega Veneta heels and a structured clutch by Oroton.

Loving this elevated casual look. This Christopher Esber top is such an interesting style with the dual rings and cut-outs, I also love the olive hue. These Slvrlake jeans have also been a great summer staple, the crisp white colour is the perfect base to pair with multiple tops and the cropped cut works well with different sandals and slides. These black flatform thongs from Rozalia Russian’s collab with Billini have been such a fun addition to my shoerobe this season, they’re ultra comfy and also give existing outfits an on trend feel.

My jeans making another appearance! I was taking the girls out to watch a show and I wanted a comfy look, so opted for a denim and shirt combination. I got this striped shirt as part of a set and I’ve worn it on its own as much as I have with the matching shorts. The red stripe adds a bold touch to an outfit and always looks polished. I’ve spent most of summer in these Proenza Schouler Birkenstocks because they’re the perfect flat shoe for when I’m on the go with the girls, and the colour goes with virtually everything.

Statement dresses are often my go-to during summer and this Rosetta Getty cut out dress has been one of my favourite new additions to my wardrobe. The neutral hue means I can pair it with a variety of different accessories, while the combination of long sleeves and cut out detail adds an interesting touch. We were heading out to dinner so I dressed it up with black heels, and the cutest shearling trimmed Jacquemus bag.

What I Wore This Week: Holiday Edition

21st January, 2022

As we near the end of summer holidays, I’ve been reminiscing about some of the looks I’ve worn over the past few weeks. From race days, to soaking up the sun poolside and spending time with my family, these are some of the outfits I’ve worn, and the fond memories I’ve created. There have been lots of opportunities to wear new brands that I’ve recently fallen in love with and champion Aussie brands I’ve long loved. Here’s what I wore: the holiday edition.

I’ve loved wearing this as a cover up for the pool because of the vibrant print and the oversized fit. This swimsuit is a favourite as I love the flattering cut and the bold rust hue. I’m never without a wide brimmed hat whenever I’m spending time in the sun and this Avenue hat is perfection—just the right shape and size, and I love the tie which keeps it in place.

Hanging out on the farm in this gorgeous set by Alemais. The unexpected colour combination of terracota with splashes of pink, coupled with the print make it a real statement look. It’s also unbelievably comfy which ticks so many boxes for me. I’ve spent the summer in these Proenza Schouler Birkenstocks and they just go with everything. Also another tick in the comfort box.

At the Magic Millions with my family. This white Dissh dress is a lightweight linen which is perfect for balmy days and the crisp white hue is always a winner in summer. I wore these with strappy heels by Aje and a top handle basket bag. I’m always a fan of anything white in summer as it instantly looks dressy and polished.

Here I am filming at Scanlan Theodore with Laura Dundovic for Channel 7. I love this aquamarine hue as it really pops! This form fitting dress is so great for summer, and could work in numerous settings from an elevated look for work to a polished ensemble for a long lunch. The shoes and bag are also by Scanlan Theodore which just further reinforces how many amazing things the brand currently has in store.

What I wore this week

18th February, 2021

The weather has been a bit up and down in Sydney this week, so it called for a plethora of different looks to cater for varying temperatures. I went from a swimsuit one minute to my fave denim the next, so it was a great exercise in being able to really delve into the various areas of my closet. Here’s what I wore this week.

One of my new fave things to do is rework a swimsuit into a bodysuit. It’s a great way to extend the wear of my swimmers and I love the versatility of being able to utilise existing pieces in different ways. I wore this great Viktoria and Woods textured swimsuit with cropped jeans, and sandals for a sleek summer look.

Being out and about as a mum means comfort is key. I love dresses for this very thing because not only are they comfortable, it’s also a great way to achieve a polished effect with minimal fuss. I wore this black Camilla and Marc dress with simple black sandals (side note: these are the comfiest sandals in my closet right now) for the ultimate in sleek and simple outfits.

This was at a press day for the All Star Mile so it was a great excuse to get frocked up. This is one of Aje’s signature silhouettes and it’s such a great look in a sky blue shade. I wore this with white Bottega Veneta pumps, and a white bag for my take on daytime elegance.

All black on this particular day. These Aje jeans worked back with a padded, sleeveless tee and sandals helped me to do a comfy look without compromising on style. Plus, the great thing is all these pieces separately work back with so many other things in my closet. Plus the addition of a classic straw bag helped to soften this look and give it a more feminine touch.

What I Wore: Crown Sydney

20th January, 2021

I have a newfound appreciation for a great staycation given border restrictions right now so I was thrilled to be invited to check out the newly opened Crown Sydney in Barangaroo. With a luxe holiday feel, it was the the ideal time to try a few resortwear looks.

The one thing I always do whenever I’m on holiday is embrace a simple colour palette that can be mixed and matched. I went for crisp white and warm neutrals in this instance, wearing some great new pieces from Viktoria and Woods. The white pants I’m wearing below have been such a great addition to my summer wardrobe. They go with virtually anything and can easily be dressed up or down (I’ll definitely bookmark them for when the time comes when we’re able to do overseas trips again).

What’s a holiday without being able to get dressed up for a nice dinner? We were lucky to roadtest one of the new restaurants at the Crown so an LBD seemed the ideal starting point. I opted for a sleek Aje dress with a subtle cut-out and and Bottega Veneta sandals.

While poolside, I embraced one of my fave trends of summer: wearing a one-piece swimsuit with pants. I wore a one-shoulder Bondi Born swimsuit with lightweight wide leg pants by Monday Swimwear, which easily took me from sitting by the pool to being able to grab a bite to eat without missing a beat. Sleek and simple – my fave way to do holiday dressing, near or far.
