Escaping the cold Sydney weather to Daydream Island has been such a great trip for Luke, Sophia, Grace and I. The girls have absolutely loved exploring the resort and everything has been so family-friendly too. Checking out the Living Reef where the girls were able to feed the stingrays was a definite highlight for the kids and so educational too.
There are worse ways to spend a week than jetting off to a tropical island but that’s exactly how I’ve spent the last few days. I was lucky enough to be invited to spend a week at Daydream Island with Luke and the girls. Along with being able to enjoy the beach and sunshine, I was also thrilled to work on an exciting shoot to coincide with my new ambassadorship for the resort. I had a great time shooting around the beautiful property and can’t wait to reveal more. It’s safe to say this has definitely one of the more fun and relaxing weeks I’ve had on the job!
This week has also been a great opportunity to snap up some special pieces with Harrold’s big sale. Lots of my favourite designers were on sale and some were reduced up to 50 per cent which to me is the perfect time to nab a few designer things I’ve had my eye on.
And to cap off such a big week, I headed up to our family farm to enjoy a relaxing weekend in the country. The girls always really love it as it gives them the opportunity to run around and have a great time with all the different animals my parents keep. I for one, am glad for the extra day’s break and will definitely be making the most of it enjoying the sunshine.
With winter officially here it’s time to into cosy dressing mode. I love winter because it’s a great opportunity to play with lots of layering along with mixing and matching textures. Also there’s plenty of accessories to play with. From a great pair of ankle boots to a beautiful scarf and a luxe shoulder bag, there are so many ways to add an interesting element to a look. Denim is a girl’s best friend but it can sometimes look a little too casual. Enter a statement jacket. Fringing, patterns, embellishment… as long as the jacket is a little bit extra it can turn a pair of jeans into something special.

Also given it’s officially winter I’m sharing my new skincare routine. The cooler weather means I’m more focused on looking after my skin – nothing worse than a dry, damaged complexion so I’m employing a new beauty regimen.
It’s always a nice treat to have a mid-week getaway and I was lucky enough to do a girls’ trip to Orange in NSW. A change of scenery, including lots of amazing food and wine and getting up close and personal with the local flora and fauna certainly helped me to recharge my batteries after a busy few weeks, including the hectic few days that was Fashion Week.
Fashion Week is over for another year and what a week it was. It’s always such a whirlwind few days, from the excitement of the very first show featuring Aje to doing Date with Kates with a few designers and catching up with friends and colleagues, it’s been such a busy time. But as always I’ve had fun and I’m looking forward to doing it all again next year.
Also the upside of attending Fashion Week is seeing the upcoming trends and pinpointing what I will be adding to my wardrobe come spring/summer. It’s been a hectic week this week in the lead up to the start of Fashion Week as I get all my looks together for all the shows. In amongst all the prep however it’s been nice doing Mother’s Day activities both with the girls and two of my favourite mums ever – my own mum and my sister-in-law Hoda. I hosted a little brunch for the three of us this week ahead of Mother’s Day and it was lovely to hang out and spend some quality time together.
Now it’s time to get ready for another big few days at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia.
Given the number of public holidays we’ve had over the last week or so it’s hard to keep up with what day it is! I managed to squeeze in a relaxing few days at our family farm in the Southern Highlands and made the most of the gorgeous weather we’ve been having by going for a stroll with the girls and Luke. It’s always a nice way to spend time as a family.
We decided to make the most of the long weekend and get out of Sydney and drive down to our family farm to spend the Easter break. It’s always nice to get out of town for a bit and wind down in the country for a few days. Also the girls always really like spending time with their cousins and getting to play outdoors and run around. Being able to recharge our batteries means we come back ready to tackle the week ahead.
