It’s been an exciting week for my role as ATC ambassador, attending a fashion launch at Sydney’s Wisteria and also The Championships over the weekend. I love autumn racing season so it’s been great fun getting in the midst of it all. Not to mention the fashion trends are so good for all the event on the racing calendar at this time of year so it’s definitely been an exciting week as far as outfits go.
It’s not often you get to spend your working week hanging out in Paris, but that’s what I was lucky enough to be able to do over the the last few days. I was in the City of Light to celebrate the launch of the new Huawei P30 and spent my week taking in the sights from a cruise on the River Seine to visiting the breathtaking Palace of Versailles along with being able to take it all in with the help of my new gadget.
I’m always so thankful to be able to travel for work and this week was absolutely incredible. Being able to spend time in one of my favourite cities, sightseeing and indulging in many a great meal along with being invited to attend such a huge launch was definitely a pinch-me moment. Now to get back to normal…
We had a week of typical trans-seasonal weather in Sydney which meant sunshine one minute and torrential downpour the next. The upside though? The girls were able to wear these adorable raincoats whilst out and about on one of our usual walks as they inspected all the gorgeous blooms that are still on display in our neighbourhood.
I also enjoyed the bustling CBD this week debuting a new look by Camilla and Marc that ticked all my requirements for a sleek monochrome look.
And lastly I ended the week attending the Golden Slipper Stakes in Sydney in my new role as ATC ambassador but also to take on reporting duties for 7 Racing. It was great to be able to get in front of the camera again and chat all things fashion at one of my favourite racing events.
Such an exciting week this week! I was so thrilled to be able to announce that I am the ATC 2019 Autumn Racing ambassador. As Sydney racing has such a special place in my heart I’m particularly excited to be taking on this role. Plus as a bonus I was able to have Sophia and Grace join in on all the activity which is always great when you’re a working mum and are able to combine work and family.
While it was a busy week, it was great to be able to enjoy some down time with the girls, enjoying a walk on the beach and also a leisurely Sunday buying beautiful blooms.
I was in between meetings this week when I found the most gorgeous petal chair at furniture store Matt Blatt. Needless to say it was one of those pieces that was totally Insta-worthy and I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics. What do you think? Do I need this chair in my life?
As far as new looks went, it was all about the most gorgeous playsuit by Macgraw. Not only was it fresh and chic like only a crisp white outfit can be but the finishing touches—the ruffles, the statement sleeves and gold buttons helped make it a standout casual look.
Here’s to everyone having a great week. I’ll see you on Instagram!
This week I uncovered a new favourite look which I shared here. These mint green pants by Zimmermann and the embroidered top to complement it has been getting quite the workout of late.
Also I was able to shoot with my girls for a collab I did with Sally Hansen which was really nice. As a working mum it’s always when my worlds collide a bit and I can spend time with Sophia and Grace and still call it work. It was fun teaming up with with Sally Hansen to try a few of their great colours because I discovered a new fave called ‘Pink and Harmony’ which is just the right pink shade to take me through to autumn/winter.
It was all about love this week as I hosted a few of my fave girls to a Galentine’s Day dinner… but never fear I didn’t forget Luke! We enjoyed a belated Valentine’s Day dinner at one of my favourite restaurants in Sydney, Rosetta.
I was also lucky enough to attend the Sail GP event on Sydney Harbour which if you’re not familiar with it is a supercharged version of sailing. I had a great time on the water and it certainly was an exciting sport to watch.
I love weeks that serve up a variety of activities and events. I went from a quiet getaway to our family farm (which the kids always adore) to Luke’s birthday and then my very first trip to Tasmania.
Most importantly I managed to enjoy lots of family time this week celebrating my sister-in-law’s birthday and also enjoying time at the beach with my two angels.
Who’s looking for some new wardrobe inspo? Now that we’re all fully back into the swing of things—holidays are over, school’s back, work is well underway, it can be the perfect time for a little style injection. So whether you’re looking something to take your office look up notch or a great ensemble to try on the weekend, I’ve rounded up a few outfits that are work bookmarking the next time you feel you’re in a fashion rut.
Mix classic and casual
A printed button down shirt and jeans makes for the ideal effortless and chic outfit that you can wear for myriad occasions.
Go monochrome
A little black and white never goes astray. Try a monochrome palette the next time you’re feeling stuck for an outfit, I guarantee it’s always unfailingly stylish.
Say it loud and proud
A slogan tee always adds a fun element to any look. Whether it’s your favourite brand or a phrase or word you adore, letting your clothes do the talking is a playful take on casual dressing.
Turn up the volume
Neutrals have their place but sometimes you just want to turn up the vibrancy. Prints worked back with a bold, solid colour make for an eye-catching look that’s not over the top.
Keep it simple
Sometimes the best style formulas are still the most simple. A plain tee, with denim shorts and minimalist sandals looks relaxed and effortless.
Go back to basics
Never underestimate the simplest pieces in your closet. A white singlet and shorts is an often utilised combination but when dressed up with an accessory or two such as a belt and a necklace, it’s super stylish.
Clash your prints
You can always call on Olivia Palermo to demonstrate just how amazing clashing prints can be. When trying this look just be sure to have similar colours in each print to allow the look to flow.
Stripe it up
Stock up on a few striped shirts in your wardrobe—they’re easily one of the best shortcuts to making anything from jeans to skirts adopt a little Parisian flair.
Keep it tonal
Using the same colour in various shades can make for an impactful look.
Add a headpiece
You don’t always have to save headpieces for the races! A great accessory like a statement headband or embellished clips, or even a scarf can turn an ordinary outfit into something more.
Layer up
Whether it’s stacking necklaces or bracelets or earrings, wearing a cluster of jewellery is one way to elevate a look with minimal fuss.
Try a statement midi skirt
I’m a huge fan of a midi skirt because I think it looks classic and sophisticated. However to avoid it looking too sedate, try one in a great print. Animal print, stripes, polka dots… go forth and embrace a bold pattern.
