What I Wore: Louis Vuitton

8th June, 2019

As a long time fan of Louis Vuitton I was thrilled to attend the launch of their new B Blossom collection at their concept store on Sydney’s George Street. It was so fun to check out all the pieces in the range and have the opportunity to try them on.

When it comes to big launches such as this I always like to support the brand by wearing something from their range, and for this event I was lucky enough to be dressed by Louis Vuitton. For a cocktail party, what better outfit option than a little black dress? I decided on a sleeveless Louis Vuitton LBD but as it was a bit chilly outside, I decided to pop on a turtleneck underneath. It helped keep me warm and has always been a favourite go-to hack of mine to extend the wear of dresses into winter. It had such a beautiful pattern on it which helped elevate it, whilst the silhouette was still classic and sophisticated and ideal for such an event.

I paired this look with simple black Aquazzura pumps and a bold cherry red Louis Vuitton bag which I wore as a clutch. And of course, I wanted to wear a few pieces from the B Blossom collection. I layered two necklaces to add an interesting element to my ensemble, and wore some simple and understated earrings and rings, also from the range, to complement the rest of my look.

12 Insta-outfit ideas to steal

3rd June, 2019

With winter officially here it’s time to into cosy dressing mode. I love winter because it’s a great opportunity to play with lots of layering along with mixing and matching textures. Also there’s plenty of accessories to play with. From a great pair of ankle boots to a beautiful scarf and a luxe shoulder bag, there are so many ways to add an interesting element to a look. And if winter’s not your thing and you’re stuck for ideas on what to wear, never fear because these outfits are sure to inspire.

Denim is a girl’s best friend but it can sometimes look a little too casual. Enter a statement jacket. Fringing, patterns, embellishment… as long as the jacket is a little bit extra it can turn a pair of jeans into something special.

Extend the wear of your favourite denim skirt by pairing it with sheer stockings a la Brooke Testoni. Simply pair with a punchy shirt and heels and you’ve got yourself a chic winter look.

Suede is one of those luxe textures that’s made for winter. A pair of suede boots is an easy way to incorporate it into a look but you could also opt for a beautiful coat or a skirt.

Update your denim wardrobe this season with a pair of cropped wide leg jeans. It’s a fun alternative to a skinny leg style and it works beautifully with a great pair of flats.

Knits are without a doubt a winter wardrobe staple so this season why not mix it up by working a few interesting styles into your repertoire? A crossover ballerina style jumper such as this is a versatile option for day or night.

Have a little fun with your winter coat and look for one that incorporates texture. A fluffy coat such as this is an effective way to dial up the impact of any outfit.

If you don’t have a classic trench in your wardrobe yet you don’t know what you’re missing out on. It’s a versatile style staple that will instantly add a sophisticated touch to any ensemble.

I’m all for a blazer, and this season I’m loving one in a fun vibrant shade. This bubblegum pink number is ideal for elevating an outfit.

Who says your skirts have to go into hibernation? Work it with a button down skirt and boots and you’ve got yourself a seriously sophisticated look for work or play.

Playing with earthy shades this season is must. A beautiful rust colour worked back with beige is one way to do this colour palette in an on trend way.

What’s winter if you don’t have at least one all black ensemble? Whilst it’s a shortcut to looking chic, wearing it from head to toe can sometimes look a little flat. Add some great accessories such as crossbody bag or a headband to give it a little lift.

A printed skirt is a great outfit option no matter that time of year. You can easily change the look and feel of this ensemble by switching out a shirt for a tee and vice versa. Add a jacket and you’re done.

What I Wore: Rusted Tones

21st May, 2019

One thing I’ve always found really beautiful about this time of year is the changing colours of the leaves. All the gorgeous rusty shades work so well together that I was inspired to adopt the colour palette myself. I loved the colour blocking effect of this look and it’s something that I think works really effectively if you want to make a strong visual statement with your outfit.

I’ve spoken about my love of a great winter coat in the past and I think that one in a camel shade is a wardrobe must-have. As a neutral it works really well with almost every colour in my wardrobe and it’s eternally chic. And if you want to add a staple to your outfit repertoire this season definitely invest in turtlenecks in various shades. They’re a great all-rounder and they can pair as easily with a skirt as they can with denim.

I wore the below black top handle bag to Fashion Week last week and it hasn’t left my side. It’s a great size for carrying my essentials but also small enough to add a classic element to my look. Topped with a pair of statement sunglasses, I can see this outfit quickly becoming a fave.

Australian Fashion Week: Day 3

14th May, 2019

For a big day of shows I wanted to embrace a strong look and what better option than a great suit. I was attending the Camilla and Marc show today so a khaki skirt suit from their latest collection was ideal for the day ahead. The classic Camilla and Marc blazer silhouette is always spot on and has such a flattering fit and paired with a midi skirt, it is feminine, sleek and edgy all rolled into one. Plus the colour is a little different from your average suit so it really elevated the entire look.

As the skirt is already a statement-making piece in itself I wanted everything else to be quite minimalist. So I opted for a nude sandal with clear straps — simple yet on trend and a great accent piece to the suit. And after a few hectic days I definitely couldn’t leave the house without sunglasses. These black futuristic frames by Prada worked well with my favourite Dior bag worn as a clutch.

Australian Fashion Week: Day 2

13th May, 2019

It’s the second day of Fashion Week and with my first show being Bec & Bridge I opted to wear a piece from their new collection. I’m always a fan of an LBD and loved the look of this midi dress, particularly the finishing details. The tie-up neck ribbon and the sheer panelling give it a hint of drama and elevate it from a being just a simple black dress.

In keeping with the whole glam look and feel of the dress, I felt it needed another equally as glam touch. Given it’s been a little chilly of late I decided on a long chocolate brown faux fur coat. It ticked both the style and utilitarian box and was definitely the perfect statement outerwear to cap off my outfit.

When it comes to a black dress I think you it’s great to have accessories that pop to provide a little contrast. I love this structured mini camera bag by Yuzefi; with the colour blocking and chain strap it gives the look an interesting focal point. I decided on wearing this particular pair of pointed Christian Louboutin pumps because I loved the ankle straps so much. I think the little details are often what makes a look and I liked that strappy shoes worked beautifully with the cropped midi hem of the dress. Gold statement earrings provided just the right hint of glam and made for a strong finishing touch to my ensemble.

Australian Fashion Week: Day 1

12th May, 2019

The first show of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia is always exciting as there’s a huge buzz on the day as it officially kicks off proceedings. I’m a huge fan of Aje so attending their show today was exciting as I was looking forward to seeing their new collection and what pieces I’ll inevitably fall in love with!

It’s always good to support the designer whose show you are attending with your outfit so I opted for a beautiful pink and black Aje dress. The gorgeous print is a little moody in its vibe but the pops of pink perk it up and add a feminine touch.

I wanted to keep the rest of my accessories quite pared back so my black Bulgari bag and simple Isabel Marant ankle boots were the ideal complementary pieces. I found they didn’t detract from the overall feel of the dress. Having shorter hair has made me want to incorporate a few more statement earrings into my look and this pair by Reliquie helped to lift my outfit without detracting from the rest of my look.

If today was anything to go by, I can’t wait to see what else this week has in store. Stay tuned for more Fashion Week Australia coverage this week as I take you through the next few days, one outfit post at a time.

My week on Instagram

5th May, 2019

One of the great things about my job is being able to work with great brands and one of the highlights of this week was flying down to Melbourne to attend the launch of the new TOD’s store at Chadstone shopping centre. Not only was I able to check out the new store but as part of the launch we were able to see how they make the iconic TOD’s driving shoe from start to finish. Seeing the craftsmanship that goes into each piece was just incredible.

Speaking of brands, I’m gearing up for Fashion Week this week and can’t wait to bring you my picks, favourite trends and all my looks from one of Australian fashion’s biggest events. Hope you have a great week!

What I Wore: Autumn Shades

29th April, 2019

Even though we’re still getting some gorgeous warm days in Sydney, it doesn’t mean I haven’t been embracing all things autumnal of late. I love the shade of this Veronika Maine skirt as it reminds me of the changing colours of the leaves around my neighbourhood. Its sleek silhouette makes for the perfect counterpart to a cosy knit (also by Veronika Maine). I love both pieces as they’ll easily work back with plenty of other separates in my wardrobe, meaning they’ll get quite the work out over the coming weeks.

I wanted to maintain a comfy look so I opted for my go-to pointed Dior flats, which are great for spending the day walking around in but still look quite dressy. My black Dior bag with chainstrap is a great size as it’s big enough to carry what I need but compact enough that it’s perfect for busy days running around. Fun scallop edged sunglasses by Chloe make for the ideal finishing touch and is the perfect companion during days of glorious autumn sunshine.

My week on Instagram

28th April, 2019

Given the number of public holidays we’ve had over the last week or so it’s hard to keep up with what day it is! I managed to squeeze in a relaxing few days at our family farm in the Southern Highlands and made the most of the gorgeous weather we’ve been having by going for a stroll with the girls and Luke. It’s always a nice way to spend time as a family.

It’s also been a big week for outfits on the blog with my wrap up of all my outfits from my recent trip to Paris and my love of all manner of printed dresses, especially the below frock from Veronika Maine.

What I Wore: Prints Charming

26th April, 2019

Lately I’ve been really embracing the printed dress. There’s something appealing about an outfit that looks pulled together with minimal effort, especially as most days I’m rushing around trying to get out the door. This dress by Steele manages to incorporate my love of a monochrome colour palette and bold prints. The mixed animal print and split make this midi dress a fun option for both day and night. By changing up my accessories I can easily tailor it to a work event in the day and dinner at night.

I wanted to keep the black and white theme going so I decided on simple black accessories. My fave Prada bag and Aquazzura heels provided the ideal complementary accoutrements as they both allowed the dress to shine. A pair of white sunglasses add a playful touch to this modern look and provide a contrast to the otherwise simple vibe I’ve gone for with my bag and heels. This outfit will easily become a go-to in the months to come.
