Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: All I Want For Christmas

1st December, 2021

After the year we’ve all had, I’m of the frame of mind that Christmas is a time to go all out and celebrate big time! So, what better way to do it than getting dressed up, putting on a beautiful gown and toasting the most wonderful time of the year? I don’t think you can do any of this without a striking red dress, because if there’s one thing that says Christmas it’s something in a knockout red. When I talked about getting dressed up, I meant gown territory. And what a gown this one is! I can always call upon Rebecca Vallance to deliver in the dress department, and this is one takes festive celebrations to a different level. Firstly, I can never resist a big bow moment. The back of this dress is just to die for, and is such a statement making piece. The sleek silhouette is also a great way to offset the big, oversized nature of the bow making for a gown with sexiness and playfulness all rolled into one.

Whenever I do evening attire such as this I always tend to opt for a sleek ‘do to truly let the dress do all the talking. How you wear your hair really makes all the difference and in this instance, it was all about my go-to style of a slicked back bun. It’s timeless, classic and just the thing to ensure a clean decolletage to work with the strapless neckline of the dress. I opted for sky high heels as I think a dress like this needs to look as elongated as possible and what better way to do it than with a pair of black pumps to add a little extra height. Simple studs and a tennis bracelet make for an elegant pairing that complements this dress perfectly, and instantly ups the glam stakes of this look.
