Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Chain Reaction

22nd February, 2022

With autumn just around the corner, I’ve been looking for new pieces that will help me transition into the cooler weather but also work in that transseasonal period where you never know whether it’s going to be hot or cold. I always look for things that can layer really well, and also a few on trend pieces that will help update my existing wardrobe. I recently collaborated with Witchery and pulled together this great look that ticks all the new season boxes. The focal point is definitely the chain print shirt. I love its 70s vibe and the striking print, which means it can easily dress up an outfit. I then paired it with a cream leather skirt, which is the perfect sartorial partner to let the shirt do all the talking. Plus I love the unexpected hue of the skirt — you always expect leather to be in dark hues and it’s nice to have an option that’s a little lighter and brighter.

I’m all about layering in the cooler months and this satin trench is just the thing to add a pop of colour to any look. I love the forest green hue, and the satin offers a nice textural element. Expect penny loafers to be huge during autumn/winter. I love their preppy and polished vibe and when worn with socks it’s gives it an old school feel. In terms of accessories I went for a cream bag to add some brightness and contrast to the darker hues of this outfit, and a pair of oversized sunnies just to cap off the look.
