I’ve always classified a great suit in the same category as an LBD: a wardrobe essential. I am always on the look out first and foremost for nice tailoring. I think a suit has to fit well so there’s no room for excess bagginess or too much length or fabric, it has to sit just right. Plus I’m always on the hunt for interesting finishing touches. Whether it be a unique choice of button, or just an edgy design feature, I think it can turn a good suit into something special. Which is why I was initially draw to this Sofia Irina suit. The long length blazer and cigarette pant are sharp and sleek as all good suits should be, but what I liked was the cut-out. I think it disrupts the silhouette in the best way possible, giving it a point of difference and just a hint of sexiness. It really makes this suit a great contender for a night out or a special event look. But if you work somewhere where a little risk-taking in the fashion department is welcomed, this could definitely count as office attire.
I wanted to elongate the silhouette so I went for black Bottega heels, which also add a nice feminine touch. Plus I’ve always loved the vibe of a strappy heel worked back with sharp suiting, there’s just something so sophisticated about it. While wearing all black from head to toe is a great failsafe look, I wanted to add a little extra colour to avoid it from looking flat so I thought adding a white Bulgari bag achieved a great monochromatic effect.
