What I Wore: Gucci 100

12th October, 2021

A century of heritage is something to be celebrate, particularly when it’s one of your favourite brands. Gucci has created an ultra fun collection to celebrate their 100 year anniversary that’s based around their impact on pop culture over the years. The collection is vibrant, bold and playful and a celebration in clothes form and I couldn’t wait to jump aboard and work with them highlight how great it is.

While there were a few pieces that I really loved, I couldn’t go past this t-shirt. It features the signature Gucci colours and a slogan that combined make it really pop. I think when you embrace such a statement piece you need to temper it a little so I went for crisp white, wide leg pants to allow the colours of the shirt to stand out.

What would a conversation about Gucci be without striking accessories? Over the years, I’ve loved how Gucci have melded tradition and contemporary style, often embracing its signature monogram but infusing it with modern touches and this collection is no different. This bucket bag is such a classic size and style which makes it a piece that will be on high rotation but the use of the red and green monogram give it a modern feel. It’s the perfect accessory to take me into spring/summer. I love the print so much that I couldn’t go past the slingback in a similar style. The low slingback is often my choice of footwear when I want to look dressed up but remain comfortable and this is just the right height to ensure it becomes a firm favourite. All in all, what a way to celebrate a century of style, Gucci.
