Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Leo & Lin

19th July, 2020

Discovering new brands to love is one of the things I enjoy the most about fashion and I’ve been having fun getting acquainted with Aussie brand Leo & Lin. The label’s current collection has been inspired by tarot cards which has resulted in some truly beautiful prints appearing in the range. Contrasting elements including a lion’s head to airy florals has the potential to look overly busy but not in this case—they all play nicely together, helping to offset each print so as not to be overwhelming.

Also, I enjoy any dress with twirl factor! I really like the movement of the flouncy skirt which is tamed in some way by the cinched in waist. Also, if there’s a statement sleeve involved I’m there. There’s lots of great volume incorporated in this dress but I love simplicity of the neckline, which provides a great contrast the the overall look and feel of the dress.

Shoes in this instance had to go in quite a bold direction. This dress is quite feminine so I didn’t want to go too girly with my choice of footwear—instead, it needed to be something with a to help ground the look. I went with a great pair of Stuart Weitzman ankle boots. With its studded embellishments, it helps elevate the boots and avoid it from looking too flat, while the lace up feature makes for the ideal finish.
