What I Wore: Melbourne Cup Carnival launch 2022

20th September, 2022

Today, I’m throwing back to this sunny look that I wore to the Melbourne Cup Carnival launch earlier in the month because it was such a fun one to wear. And yes, spring racing is back! I wanted to wear something bright and playful to such an event and this yellow Camilla and Marc dress definitely delivered. I think you can always make an impact simply by dialling up the saturation and embracing colour and this dress in all it’s golden goodness was the perfect way to welcome one of my favourite times of year. While it’s a simple silhouette, I loved that it had some wow factor not only from the colour but also from the lacing on the side and the cut-out feature.

I mostly wanted the colour of the dress to do all the talking so when it came to accessorising I stuck with black to really make the yellow pop. My failsafe Bottega Veneta heels once again proved their worth in cost per wear terms as I have been able to get so much use out of them. They were such a great buy. Plus they’re easily worked back with so many pieces. I then opted for a straw hat by one of my go-to milliners, Nerida Winter and a simple Dior bag to cap off my ensemble. Making a splash with colour always makes for great event attire.
