Suiting is the kind of thing that just works all year round, but it’s always nice to tailor the style slightly according to the season. This linen suit by Witchery is the perfect lightweight option for this time of year, but it still has the style and gravitas of a classic suit. You can have all kinds of fun with suits these days from colours to detailing and cut outs, and in this instance it’s all about this vibrant purple hue. It’s truly a statement outfit. That’s the great thing about a suit. It has ample amounts of polish, but you can take it in a different direction just by choosing a certain shade or a particular cut. They’ve always fallen in the forever staple category for me for that reason. I wore this suit fully buttoned and more as a top rather than a jacket for a sexy take on on it, but you could easily add a white shirt to take it into a more relaxed direction, a crisp shirt for something that is sharp and sleek or a beautiful cami for a touch of romance.
Going over the top with my choice of shoes and accessories in this instance would negate the fact that the suit is designed to be the showpiece of this entire oufit, so I went for some stylish Witchery accoutrements that were pared back. These sandals are also in a purple hue which ties in nicely to the colour of the suit, while I opted for a crisp white bag to provide a little extra contrast to all the purple features in this outfit. The chain strap on the bag adds a classy touch.
When it comes to suits, I firmly believe you can choose go for ultra sleek or soft and feminine and everything in between. Therein lies the brilliance of suiting because it has longevity, and it can work for virtually any occasion and always packs a sartorial punch whenever and wherever you wear it.
