Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Roses are Red

24th December, 2020

Festive looks don’t get any better than from Valentino. Their new season Atelier range is so incredibly beautiful. With the signature Valentino crimson front and centre and such striking, textural pieces, I found it hard to decide on an outfit. Eventually though this playful and polished look won. Mostly due to the next-level tweed mini, which when worn with the printed lip print blouse was a match made in heaven. It’s also so interesting to mix prints with texture, it really adds a lot of depth to an outfit. And also, how can you go past a vibrant red at Christmas time?

Accessorising from the same collection, I immediately honed in on the sublime hobo bag. The insane leather work is hard to fathom with the 3D sculptural roses and the fanned out petals—it’s so intricate and just so realistic, I couldn’t believe it was all crafted from leather. The same attention to detail carried through to the gold heels I wore with this look. The rose detail was slightly downsized but so pretty all the same. Also, I’m a fan of contrasting gold with red, it’s such a great pairing and both colours really pop against each other. As far as Christmas attire goes, this new season drop from Valentino truly delivers.
