Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Short Story

5th February, 2019

A great pair of tailored shorts is always a handy summer staple to have. I like having a dressier pair of shorts in my collection that’s a bit more elevated than a pair of denim cut-offs, and one that I can wear everywhere from the office to a function. This high waisted pair from Zimmermann are the ideal mixture of a classic shape but with playful finishes such as the bauble trim (it also comes with a corsage belt that I wasn’t wearing on this day). With the shape and colour of these shorts, it’s easy to mix and match them with various tops such as a cami or a tee, but I decided to go for a Zimmermann floral appliqued blouse. The beautiful peach colour provided the perfect accent piece to the crisp white colour of the shorts and it had some great finishes such as the blouson sleeves and exaggerated cuffs.

As there was already so much going on with the top and shorts, I decided to stick to a pair of white Gucci sandals so as not to overwhelm the outfit. A transparent Staud bag added an on trend touch, whilst my marble Lucy Folk sunglasses added a little bit of fun to my overall look.
