Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore this week

15th December, 2022

I’m currently on a family holiday so I’ve hit vacation mode in my wardrobe. I always find pulling together looks for trips to be fun as it means I get to experiment with a few new pieces plus it’s always a great challenge to be able to pull together a capsule wardrobe. I hate overpacking so I’m really strict with the pieces I bring — they have to be versatile. I set myself an even bigger challenge this time around as we spent the first half of our trip in warm weather in Hawaii, then straight to the cold with skiing in Aspen in Colorado. So, what did I pack? Here’s a peek at the looks I’ve been embracing.

Co-ord sets are a gem. I love taking them on holiday with me as it means I can wear them together but also as separates. All I have to do is bring a few key basics with me and I can rework them into a different looks. I then wore this set with my failsafe Gucci slides which have been such a great buy— I’ve had them for years and they’ve been with me on multiple trips and I wear them constantly throughout the year.

Holidaying in Hawaii had me wanting to embrace fun prints. This set by Aussie brand Muma was just perfect for a tropical holiday. I wore this set when we were heading out for my birthday and it certainly left me in a festive mood. Also, if you can’t embrace a bold print when you’re on vacation when can you? Once again my Gucci sandals made an appearance. They’re so versatile and it’s not often I go away anywhere without packing them.

A quick change of pace into skiing mode had me embracing cosy winter pieces. It’s important to stay warm of course, but I still like dropping some fashion-ey pieces into my outfits. I’ve had this Perfect Moment sweater for ages, and it always comes with me when we’re going on a winter break. Plus I love that it offers a bold pop of colour. A plain black pair of ski pants is a must and this pair by Bogner have served me well for many seasons.
