I recently attended the launch of Witchery’s collaboration with the brand KitX and was excited to wear a look plucked straight from the collection. The great thing about designer collaborations is that you’re always guaranteed to get each collaborator brand’s particular look and aesthetic but translated into something with a different spin. This look, is summer personified. Two-piece sets are always a great option for when you want to look polished, but I love the interesting silhouette of the top. The style is aptly called a scarf top and it has that effortless, nonchalant feel of a draped scarf which works beautifully in warmer weather. I’ll definitely bookmark this look for an event or two. Also I’ve never met a pair of flowy, relaxed wide leg pants I didn’t like, and this one has great movement and drapes really well. I always have to be careful with a silhouette such as this as they can tend to overwhelm a petite frame, but this one has just the right amount of volume to remain flattering, plus it’s offset by the more fitted nature of the top. The vivid blue is also a particularly great hue for spring/summer.
I didn’t want to take away from the bright blue of the set so I opted for more muted tones when it came to my accessories. Sometimes you just have to do what you can to let a colour pop! So I went for a beige pair of minimalist heels by Wittner, which are just the right hue to blend in with the set. I think by choosing colour that “disappears” rather than provides contrast it actually achieves a really flattering, elongating effect. I added a mini bag by Apede Mod in white, as I didn’t want anything overly fussy, but I did want a bag with a bit more structure to provide some contrast against the more relaxed vibe of the set. This look is just one of my favourites from the collection, there are definitely plenty more pieces to love.
