Fashion, What I Wore

All the looks I wore on my trip to the Gold Coast

16th October, 2023

As part of a partnership with QANTAS, I was lucky enough to spend a few nights on the sunny Gold Coast recently. Even better was the fact I was able to be joined by some friends during the trip. We explored a lot of the area, checking out some great dining spots, and also indulging in some relaxation by the pool and at the spa. It was a great way to unwind after the craziness of the school holidays! Whenever I’m on a trip, I enjoy planning my wardrobe as much as I do my activities as I find it’s all part of the novelty of being away. So, here’s what I packed with me for a few days in Queensland.

This is a great LBD from Scanlan Theodore. It’s such a simple, sleek design that can be dressed up or down and can easily be transformed or reworked according to the occasion. The strapless neckline and subtle flare give it a glam feel, and it’s so pared back that I could go all out with my shoes. Mach & Mach are known for their embellished, elaborate designs, and this pair certainly brings all the sparkle.

Yes, I am a big fan of quite a few things in Scanlan Theodore’s latest collection because this dress is also new addition to my wardrobe. For a boat day, I wanted something comfy yet classic and this taupe maxi with its flared skirt and belted waist definitely fit the brief. I finished this look off with some of my fave necklaces and cat-eye sunglasses by Poppy Lissiman.

For a day at the spa/pool, I threw on this cover up by Sir. It’s a great chocolate brown colour and the mesh fabric works beautifully with a high waisted style bikini. I glammed it up with a mini bamboo handle bag by Gucci and my trusty white Gucci slides.

There’s something about an off-the-shoulder neckline that I can never resist. I love the knotted straps on this maxi, and they drape at just the right spot – not annoying like some off-the-shoulder styles. I went with a pop of colour via my amber sunglasses to help lift the chocolate brown hue.

I’m a big believer that when you find a great style that works for you, get it in another colour. Hence, this Scanlan Theodore dress, which is a similar silhouette as my black dress, but in a vibrant yellow. It’s a great hue for summer and works well against a pair of metallic sandals.
